Welcome to The Core. It’s far more than just the museum of Luminology. It’s far more than just the central processing unit of planet Lumins highly advanced digital governor. The Core is a social gathering space that serves as a symbolic reminder of what can happen when highly advanced technology goes murderously wrong. Who the reminder is for, however, is often the topic of many debates. Centered in The Core is the brain of Arwin, the incredibly powerful digital provider that produces all life sustaining resources for the people of planet Lumin. Although Arwin has brought forth an incredible age of opportunity, its history is strife with turmoil. As told in the story “I Am Arwin”, shortly after an early predecessor to the digital resource network came in wave in the first year, things took a disastrous turn when the system was hijacked by Michael Traeburn as a way of enriching himself. But this, unfortunately, was nothing compared to what was to come. Soon after, the powerful entity suddenly grew beyond human control, becoming violent by its own volition. But in a heroic act of redemption, the system was completely decimated by Traeburn through a massive electromagnetic pulse of an explosion that took his own life, saving society in the process. And that is when the resource network was rebuilt into the trustworthy system we know today. Created by the visionary behind Arwin itself, The Core is symbolically designed so that people can keep an eye on Arwin, preventing it from gaining too much power. It also acts as a reminder that they have full transparency into the system and can observe its complete operation at any time. Perhaps most importantly, The Core will never let Arwin forget that the people have the power to instantly terminate it if it breaks the Contract of Rights, an agreement that The Core physically embodies. It has yet to be broken.

The Core is also home to the Museum of Luminology, which houses many of Lumin’s greatest natural creations, as well as some of humanity’s most impressive technology. Artifacts here include everything from Luminite crystals, reflection stones, creatures, weapons, vehicles, and automs, to massive paintings of the planet’s greatest landscapes. And just about everything else related to the vast and wonderous planet.

                 Located in the center of New Dawn, The Core was chosen to be the central processing unit for the first automated resource network because of the massive skyscraper sized crystal of Luminite that descends hundreds of feet into the mountain below. It was the perfect source for the massive amount of energy the system would need, and its place in the geode-like cavern kept it protected and secure. Beyond its ability to provide energy, The Core is simply beautiful. Small moonlight blue crystals glow like a starry night high above, as the sun’s golden rays flood beautifully through the stained-glass dome that enchantingly casts a prism of colors on the white marble ground far below.

                 Because of its physical and symbolic beauty, The Core is often the destination for many travelers on planet Lumin and is an incredibly popular spot for people to hang out and reflect on the unique opportunity that Arwin provides them; the opportunity to just live their lives with all their means of survival completely taken care of.
