Voltaic Mountains
A constantly frozen landscape of snow topped sky breaching peaks that seem to reach all the way into the stars, the Voltaic Mountains hold the key to Lumins most valuable resource. Floating high above the tallest of peaks, Voltaea clouds are hard at work, capturing 100% of the suns energy that touch their surface.
Like a massive bolt of continuous lightning that seems to stretch all the way from the heavens, energy chaotically jolts to the mountains Electrite rich surface, where it is retained by the planets supply of Luminite. Sitting at the upper edges of the planets atmosphere, the Voltaic Mountains always seem to be veiled by a cloak of darkness. Aided by almost perfectly matte black shale, and lit by veins of glowing blue Luminite, the fluffy snow topped mountains would give a constant stream of serene, peaceful energy if it wasn’t for the ripping soundwaves of the energy storms.
Very remote, and mostly avoided by people, the mountains sit directly on the north and south poles of the planet, and play an important role for life on Lumin. Many resources, especially common metals, are mined from the gratuitous hills in vast supply. Streaming from the highest of peaks flow many of the planets dark watered rivers, as if to purposely create living remnants of the natural worlds reverance of life.
